i think they're so confused because south africa is one of the only countries in africa to be so developed, esp techonologically so. we have city capitals (cape town etc) to rival new york and la. we have the lastest internet and cell phone capabilities, whereas most cities in africa have none. we are just like new york, except 10X more beautiful and 10X less arrogant.

Everyone was probably told when they were 3 that 'lions run around in africa' (since technically they do i guess) and they just never considered it worthwhile to check out the facts about our little country.

i agree with you about how dense some Americans can be. they need to stop living in there closed life a find out about the rest of the world instead of trying to find the closest MC Donald's place. South Africa is to Africa what America is to the world. we have everything that most develop ted countries have and things that America will never have and that is unity. we don't sue people over things like not being given the perfect burger at fast food places or didn't do everthing right. they just need to learn some common sense because who would ride a lion to work and buy something that needs electricity when there isn't any really come on grow some brains. trust me i could spend all day talking on this topic but i will stop pointing out americans billions of faults for now.

and i am from South Africa the rainbow nation

Thats correct, I was in Florida in 1986 & the people I visited asked if there was electricity & running water, also the usual how far from your "HUT" are the lions & other wild animals...education seems lacking along with some basic common sense *grin*..is it so hard to read books on the country or heres a clue USE THE INTERNET..

I find that on a whole, American people are not interested in other countries ,unless they are going there and only then, to how to have fun.My husband was a teacher of English as a foreign language ,the fist time we went overseas to teach was in Syria. The first time we came back I thought I had so much to tell people about the people of Syria.I found out ,right away ,that no one cared.
