I'm off to Cape Town on the 13th May and would like some advice on the best bars, restaurants and jazz clubs in Cape Town. Will be with my husband. Would like to know the best places for good views for early evenings, good food and ambiance for restaurants and good music and atmosphere for jazz clubs.

Hi - I have been to Cape Town a few times with my wife and we really enjoyed it. It's difficult to go wrong really, but I have a couple of personal suggestions. I am huge fan of the Twelve Apostles hotel just outside of Camps Bay. It's brilliant for evening cocktails, and even for dinner - its up-market and slightly out of the way from the waterfront with all of the tourists. Otherwise look up some of the wine estates (and even golf courses) that have good food, excellent tranquil views, and some also have jazz bands. One of the very good one's is called De Zalze Wine lands Golf Estate. Otherwise take a look at this site - they give a listing of places that you're looking for: www.4southafricatours.com/restaurants/CT/All/restaurants.html

i think you're no longer from Cape city. What do you desire to eat? My people have a fave steak eating place in Chelsea Village Kenilworth - 2d street spoke of as Brads Grill. the beef is to die for! I relish fish and chips at Quay 4 in the V&A there are a lot and many nice dine eating places throughout Cape city yet take a walk up the marvelous end of long street and you will bump into eating places for all varieties of nutrition and all reliable. There somewhat is not any scarcity of robust eating places whever you bypass in the Cape.

You can spend days and nights at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Lots of shopping, restaurants, and the location of the ferry to Robbin Island (where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned). My favorite restaurant there was called Quay 4.

For evening activities, ask any taxi driver to take you to Long Street. Lots of bars and clubs.
