It is a huge country. There are game reserves in the north, beautiful beaches along the coast, and down at the southern tip is Cape Town and the Cape wine country.

For me, the Cape is the best place. Great scenery, great wines. Easy to get around, English is spoken and not expensive.

Who better to ask than someone who lives in South Africa...?

I've lived here all my life and my family has a holiday home in all except one of the provinces of South Africa (and there are nine of them!) Personally I think Cape Town is the place to be. However, people may disagree because of it's gloomy weather. If the weather is a problem head down to Durban (but I find it too tedious a place to be in!) If it's friendly people you are looking for head over to PE. But if you want to experience the best scenery Mpumalang is one place you have to stop in. Even if you are not fussy about the scenery head to Mpumalanga anyway because it just ROCKS!

Start in the Mother City (CapeTown) & take in the sights, Natal is also great, Johannesburg is the financial Capital also the most Expensive. Ultimately the whole Country is WELL worth a visit, check out the South African tourism Boards website, depending on what you looking for in a visit to SA but you wont be sorry you went

Great Country. Very diverse with modern cities, to pristine, untouched by human, wilderness areas (Imfolozi Kwazulu-Natal)

There is desert, mountains, lakes, wetlands, beaches, wild bush, forests and open savanah

Every activity you could think of is available, birding, hiking, fishing, boating, bungey, surfing, diving etc.

It has a very good road infra-structure linking the whole country. There are a wide range of backpacker establishments through out as well as 5 star hotels depending on your tastes.

Best Part to visit - is a difficult Q to answer.

I have visited most parts of the country. It does depend on what you want to experience.

City life - clubs, casinos theatre etc - Johannesburg, Durban and Capetown.

Game Reserves (wild animals etc) - KwaZulu-Natal Hluhluwe, Imfolozi, Tembe, Ithala, pilansberg, Kruger park.

Desert - Kalahari

Mountains - Drakensberg mountains - Giants Castle, Didima.

Beaches - (diving/ fishing) Sodwana, Mphalane, Cape Vidal

Scenic Beauty - Captown, Garden Route

World Heritage sites - Drakensberg Mountains, St Lucia Wetlands, Cradle of Humankind, Table Mountain

Would you enjoy a visit to South Africa - sure you would, most people who have been love it with many visitors from Europe, UK, USA etc.
